Fundraiser Cruise Raises Funds for Emergency Flights

Canandaigua, NY (3/31/2011) - Taking a winter cruise might be a favorite way for some upstate New Yorkers to escape snow and ice in favor of sunshine and beaches. And this past winter, some attendees on a Caribbean cruise had their good times help benefit an organization that saves lives every day.

A partnership between DePrez Group of Travel Companies and Royal Caribbean International benefited Mercy Flight Central, a non-profit organization that provides critical-care air medical service, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The “Cruise for Life” earned $1600 for the organization, a check for which was presented last Tuesday.

The seven-night eastern Caribbean cruise took travelers to multiple ports including St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

DePrez has announced it plans on making the cruise an annual event.
